| Breaking News |  | White Sox, Red Sox Confirm Swap Thursday, December 1st, 2011: The White Sox and Red Sox confirmed this afternoon that a trade had been agreed upon. In the deal, Chicago (A) will get 22-year-old minor league starting pitcher Júlio Salazar, while Boston will receive 38-year-old left fielder Johnny Damon.
As far as career numbers Damon has compiled a .288 batting average and collected 2624 hits, 223 home runs and 1085 RBIs.
|  | Blockbuster Deal Announced in MLB Thursday, December 1st, 2011: A major trade has been executed between the Colorado Rockies and Seattle Mariners, one that has stunned the baseball world. The Rockies traded 25-year-old center fielder Charlie Blackmon, 26-year-old minor league reliever Pedro Strop, 19-year-old minor league starting pitcher Adys Portillo, 22-year-old minor league right fielder Jim Graves and 22-year-old minor league starting pitcher Bryan Morgado to the Mariners for 27-year-old right fielder Elijah Dukes. When BNN contacted the Rockies GM, he said, "Putting this deal together was a lot of hard work, but the payoff will be tremendous and Rockies fans ought to be excited about it". The Mariners GM added, "We put a lot of thought into this... this trade will win us more ballgames". BNN analysts are up in arms debating who got the better end of the deal.
Dukes has played in 495 games with a .260 lifetime batting average. Among his 467 hits are 91 doubles, 13 triples and 66 home runs. He also has scored 298 runs and driven in 236 runs. |  | Red Sox, Dodgers Swap Players Thursday, December 1st, 2011: Everybody is overjoyed with a trade consummated today by the Boston Red Sox and the Los Angeles (N) Dodgers. In the deal Boston got 34-year-old shortstop Rafael Furcal and 27-year-old closer Jonathan Broxton from Los Angeles (N) and dealt 32-year-old third baseman Adrian Beltre and 25-year-old shortstop Brian Friday to the Dodgers. The general managers that made the swap are happy and the players are happy, too. One of the GMs commented, "This was a good swap for all concerned."
His career numbers show Friday is batting .298 with a total of 9 home runs.
